Fred has been out of town since Wednesday playing in a golf tournament with his dad in Chicago. While the kids have been fairly well behaved, it still gets to be a lot when you are "doing it" on your own. How all those single parents do it, I will NEVER know!!! If you have a friend who is a single parent, do them a favor and offer to watch their kid(s) for them, even if it is for a few hours-I am sure they would be forever grateful!!!!
Anyway...I digress. Yesterday I decided to add to the insanity and let Gwyneth and Mac both have a friend over for a sleepover. Now, with the sleepover thing it can go one of two ways: 1) Great, because the kids all entertain each other and I can just sit around eating bon bons, or 2) Horribly wrong and you are CURSING yourself for doing such a stupid thing, when the kids start arguing, or someone wakes you up in the middle of the night because they want to go home, etc. Well, luckily our sleepover went the way option #1. YEAH!!!!
Of course, I picked them up later in the afternoon and then took them directly to the pool for lots of swimming and dinner. Nothing tires kids out more than 105 degree heat and lots of swimming! All in all, a really fun time for the kids.
