I hope you all have a day filled with fun, family and fireworks!
We were supposed to be up in Sun Valley, but then I had to go and sprain my ankle playing tennis on Thursday, so we amended our plans and decided it might be better to stay in town. As it turns out, we have been having a lovely time right here at home. We had a mellow, relaxing day at home yesterday. Then yesterday afternoon BOTH the kids went to separate sleepover. Fred and I found ourselves as of 4:30pm yesterday afternoon without kids in our own home. We couldn't remember the last time we'd had that! We headed downtown for a date night: P.F. Chang's (we hit happy hour, which was not even planned, but ended up being very economical. I'll have to remember that!) and then a movie. We saw the new Tom Cruise/Cameron Diaz film, Knight and Day. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think the icky factor with Tom Cruise is finally fading for me. This morning we are waking up to a quiet house, well, quiet except the dogs clambering for food and the occasional barking session at the squirrels from Nigel, but other than that, quiet. We are enjoying our coffee and for me my blog and for Fred, Fox News Sunday.
We have a fun day planned. We pick up the kids up around noon and are heading over to Hillcrest for fun and games at the pool. Lindsay and her new boyfriend will be joining us for lunch there. This evening we are headed to our friend's neighborhood for a festive July 4th BBQ and bike parade. Then, if we are up for it, we will head down to Ann Morrison park to watch the fireworks.
Have a great day, and I hope to have some fun 4th of July photos to share with you tomorrow! For now, here are some of my best 4th of July photos that I've shot in the past.

My best fireworks shot ever! Set up on a tripod in Lacy Park.
I love the palm trees in the foreground.
